Nope Sound Blocker Now Works with All MacBooks!

Aloha Backers,
Nope Sound Blocker is working with all MacBooks now.
The issue was that some MacBooks were looking specifically for Apple headphones -- which are 23 ohms. We added a 24 ohm resistor onto one of the headphone lines while having the 1.6k on the mic. That did the trick. This wasn't well documented online, we just had to do some logical testing.
This now makes it compatible with every device out there.

MacBooks and Sound Blocker

Hey Backers,
MacBooks
We have been doing some more testing with MacBooks, and It looks like some of models don't detect Nope sound blocker. We're looking further into its compatibility with all MacBooks. We'll keep you updated. We feel this is a minor issue and confident to have a solution. Because of the inconsistencies were are not going to market Nope sound blockers for MacBooks until further notice.
We have not experienced this issue with Windows, iPhones, iPads, and Android.
Samsung S8
In our last update, we noted that the Samsung S8 phones have a dust coating that does not allow the the Nope webcam cover to adhere properly. Backers have suggested using screen protectors. We do feel that is a good option for S8 users

How We Created the Nope Sound Blocker

Aloha Backers,
We used 2.2k ohm resistor between the GND and MIC pins on the headphone connector.
You can see below how small this circuitry is.
Here is the resistor attached to our first prototype

Aloha backers!
We have been using Nope Webcam covers on iPhones without issues. Its super thin design makes it so it does not snag in your pocket. The 3M tape makes for a solid hold and grows stronger over time, but don't worry if you need to take it off you still will be able to. Just add some alcohol to loosen the bond.
Samsung S8
We also have found that the new Samsung S8 has some sort of dust proof coating which does not allow the 3M tape to bond very well. This is the only phone we know of that has such a coating. If you have a Samsung S8 this will be an issue for you. We are going do some more research on a compatible adhesive for the S8, but until further notice, we do not recommend the Nope webcam cover for the Samsung S8. Of course you can still use the Nope Sound Blocker for your Samsung S8 Device.
